In Washington State, the average price of a home inspection is more likely to be $550. The range of pricing in the poll varied from $300 on up to over $700 for a home inspection.

The price of a home inspection also often varies by these factors so its good to have this info before calling for a quote:

1.  Property address
2. The square feet
3. The year built
4. The type of home (e.g. stucco or log homes could cost more)

Some inspectors also offer different "package" pricing options for varying levels of service or additional services such as a sewer inspection, mold testing, pest inspections, etc. When shopping for a home inspection, the price should be considered but be careful when looking for the most affordable. Home Inspectors price their inspections competitive to their market and based on experience and level of service offered. Not all home inspections and inspectors are the same. When making the largest purchase of your life, you should want the best. The price difference of $50-$100 can possibly save you thousands by using an experienced inspector vs a "cheap inspector".
